Noble World Foundation

Noble World Foundation, founded in Chicago in 2004, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building a noble world by inspiring individuals to discover the Spirit within through meditation.

Our guiding principle—“Discover yourself by turning within”—echoes a timeless call found across the world’s spiritual and philosophical traditions.

  • Jesus taught, “The kingdom of God is within you.”
  • Swami Muktananda taught, “God lives within you as you.”
  • The Brihadaranyaka Upanishad declares Aham Brahmasmi—“I am the Absolute.”
  • Socrates gave humanity the enduring call: “Know thyself.”

All point inward.

The Oneness Within

At the level of body and mind, differences appear real. In waking and dreaming, separation appears real. But in deep sleep, when the mind becomes still, these distinctions disappear. Beyond these three states lies the eternal Spirit—boundless, indivisible, and radiant.

This is the oneness realized by Krishna, Christ, Buddha, Mahavira, Lao Tzu, Guru Nanak, and other enlightened beings. At that depth, there is no separation—from another person, a tree, a stone, or a distant star. Only oneness remains.

As affirmed in Building a Noble World, “The feeling of oneness is love.”

From Inner Change to World Change

True global change begins with inner transformation. Individuals make up families. Families make up societies. Societies make up nations. Nations make up the world. Thus, individuals are the world. When individuals change, the world changes.

What is 501(c)(3) Status?

A 501(c)(3) organization is a nonprofit recognized by the IRS as tax-exempt for charitable, religious, educational, scientific, or other qualifying purposes. The IRS refers to organizations eligible to receive deductible charitable gifts as qualified organizations.

With 501(c)(3) status, organizations can apply for grants, fundraise, and receive donations. It also confirms the organization’s legitimacy, giving donors confidence in their donations.

Noble World Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 20-1922549). Accordingly, donations to NWF are generally tax-deductible in the United States to the extent allowed by law.

About Shiv R. Jhawar

Shiv Jhawar

Shiv R. Jhawar came to the United States from India in 1973 and earned a Master of Accounting Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The following year, he moved to Chicago, the city he has called home ever since. A Chartered Accountant and Enrolled Agent, he has built a distinguished career in accounting and taxation. A defining turning point in Shiv’s life came on September 16, 1974, during a meditation talk in Chicago given by the renowned spiritual master Swami Muktananda (1908–1982). During that gathering, Shiv had Atma-Darshan—a direct experience of the Divine Spirit—through Shaktipat. This profound awakening shaped the course of his life and deepened an awareness that transcends external identities such as gender, religion, and race.

In 2004, Shiv founded Noble World Foundation to share this message of inner peace, compassion, unity, and spiritual understanding. His book, Building a Noble World, inspires individuals to discover the Divine Spirit within.

Shiv has a gift for expressing deep spiritual truths with clarity and simplicity, making profound wisdom easier to understand and apply in everyday life. Through writing, talks, meditation programs, and music, he continues to convey one central message: lasting peace in the world begins within.
