ABOUT
Noble World Foundation

Noble World Foundation, founded in 2004 in Chicago, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to building a noble world through the transformative power of meditation on the innermost Self.
Our guiding principle—“Discover yourself by turning within”—echoes the timeless wisdom of the world’s great spiritual masters. Lord Jesus (4 BC–29 AD) taught, “The Kingdom of God is within you.” Swami Muktananda (1908–1982) revealed, “God lives within you as you.” The Yajur Veda proclaims Aham Brahmasmi—“I am the Absolute.” Socrates (469–399 BC) urged humanity inward with the immortal call, “Know thyself.”
All great teachings point to a single truth: turn within. At the surface level of body and mind, differences appear real. In waking and dreaming, division appears real. But in deep sleep—when the mind is still—all distinctions vanish. Beyond these transient states lies the eternal Self: boundless, indivisible, and radiant—the same divinity realized by Krishna, Christ, Buddha, Mahavira, Lao Tzu, Guru Nanak, and other enlightened beings. At this depth, there is no separation—not from another human being, nor from a tree, a stone, or even a distant star. Only oneness remains.
As affirmed in the book Building a Noble World, “The feeling of oneness is love.” True global change begins with inner transformation. Individuals form families, families form societies, societies form nations, and nations form the world. Thus, individuals are the world. When individuals change, the world changes. Just as a single pebble creates ripples across a pond, one purified mind—free from lust, anger, greed, and ego—can uplift humanity. Inner purity gives rise to outer peace. The path to a noble world begins within.
Rooted in this inner truth, Noble World Foundation is also committed to accuracy, integrity, and fairness in all its actions. We uphold accuracy in recordkeeping and fairness in administrative and regulatory processes as a reflection of our deeper values: truth, responsibility, and respect for the public trust. Inner clarity must express itself as outer integrity.
Our engagement with global governance issues arises from this same principle. When procedural irregularities go unexamined, they can undermine trust, stability, and peace among nations. We believe that strengthening the rule of law—whether within individuals or within institutions—is essential to building a noble world. Our outreach on UN Charter matters reflects this commitment to truth, integrity, and the well‑being of humanity.
Our mission is universal. We welcome everyone—regardless of race, religion, gender, or nationality. A noble world begins within. We invite you to turn inward, rediscover your true Self, and join us in building a world rooted in unity, dignity, love—and fairness in action.
What is 501(c)(3) Status?
A 501(c)(3) designation under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code exempts nonprofit organizations (NPOs) from federal taxes. This status allows NPOs to receive tax-deductible donations, benefiting both the organization and its donors by reducing donors’ income tax burdens.
With 501(c)(3) status, organizations can apply for grants, fundraise, and receive donations. It also confirms the organization’s legitimacy, giving donors confidence in their contributions.
Noble World Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN: 20-1922549). So, your donation is tax-deductible in the United States. To verify this tax-exempt status, you can search by EIN on the IRS web site at https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos.
Shiv R. Jhawar is a mystic, author, teacher, and founder of the Noble World Foundation. Dedicated to inner awakening as the basis of lasting peace, his writings, talks, and contemplative music guide seekers to rediscover the Self beyond body and mind.
Shiv R. Jhawar has made Chicago his home since 1974. After earning a Master of Accounting Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he built a respected career as a Chartered Accountant and Enrolled Agent, known for clarity, integrity, and public trust. His biography is also available on Wikipedia.
A defining turning point in Shiv’s life occurred on September 16, 1974, during a meditation talk in Chicago by the renowned spiritual master Swami Muktananda (1908–1982). In a hall filled to capacity, Swami Muktananda observed of him: “He is a very good boy,” “He is highly educated,” and “He comes from a noble family.”
During that gathering, Shiv received Atma‑Darshan (a direct experience of the Divine Spirit) through Shaktipat from Swami Muktananda — an event that shaped his lifelong Atma‑niṣṭhā, a steadfast dedication to inner awareness and humanitarian service.
This inner experience later found expression in his book Building a Noble World, which explores unity, inner awareness, and the spiritual basis of peace.
Since that awakening, Shiv—regarded as Ātma‑darśī (one who has directly experienced the Divine Spirit)—has lived with an awareness that transcends external identities such as gender, religion, and race. Like sunrise and sunset, birth and death are only illusions in the vast sky of pure ‘I’-awareness.
In accordance with his Guru’s command, Shiv embraced an unmarried, simple, and inward‑focused life.
His path has been one of quiet discipline, humility, and devotion—a life shaped by the awakened spiritual energy he received.
In 2004, Shiv founded the Noble World Foundation, a nonprofit organization devoted to nurturing global unity, compassion, and peace. Through the Foundation, he has worked to bring people together across cultures and belief systems, grounded in the understanding that human suffering arises from identifying solely with the body and mind rather than recognizing our true spiritual nature.
Alongside writing and teaching, Shiv expresses these inner truths through music. His work includes an album of 11 Hindi spiritual songs (Volume 1) and an album of 11 English spiritual songs (Volume 1), both available on YouTube. These songs are contemplative offerings—intended not as performance, but as invitations to stillness, self-inquiry, and inner awakening.
Known for his clarity and simplicity, Shiv has a rare gift for making profound spiritual insights accessible to everyday life. Through writing, talks, meditation programs, and music, he continues to share a single message: lasting peace in the world begins with awakening to the truth within.
