I will suggest a couple of books to you. But first, in order to begin a spiritual journey, you must ask yourself what the goal of this journey will be. What are you seeking? And what are you willing to do to reach what you seek?
If someone were to ask me what the ultimate goal of human life is, I would say it’s to experience one’s own true being. This is the source of all happiness, peace, love, and contentment. Only by experiencing the innermost reality beyond the body-mind limitation can one become fully convinced of one’s true identity with the Spirit.
Only when the inner Kundalini awakes does one’s journey of spiritual evolution truly begin. You may not believe in it, but it is true. Since the highest energy dwells within everyone, beginning this spiritual journey is surprisingly easy for anyone who becomes receptive.
First, an invaluable book for my journey was Play of Consciousness by Swami ‘Baba’ Muktananda (1908-1982). I was fortunate enough to meet and spend time with Baba, who encouraged me to read this book as I sought to understand my Kundalini awakening. Baba’s book explained the importance of meditation, the rejection of worldly desires, and the pursuit of love.
Explaining what a firm faith can do, Swami Muktananda (1908-1982) said, “I receive so many letters from people who were reading Play of Consciousness and received shaktipat from the book. They put the book against their hearts and began to meditate.”
Second, I would suggest a book I wrote myself, called Building a Noble World. I know that it seems presumptuous that I would recommend my own book for this answer, but one of the demands of a Kundalini awakening is the desire to share the experience with others so that they may find the same understanding of the Self that I – and many before me – have found.
In the book, I give an insight into spirituality, meditation, yoga, and true Guru. In it, you will find my own experience of kundalini awakening in which one transcends one’s physical body and mind and experiences absolute reality. I also answer questions about body, mind, and Spirit as well as the fundamental truth we all share.
The central theme of the book revolves around living a more peaceful, stress-free life. One of the ironies of the 21st Century is that despite tremendous progress in science and technology, people still suffer from increasing levels of stress, unhappiness, mental illness, and addiction. What’s the use of wealth if one’s mind is not at peace?
You should not take my word for this. I urge you to look into what others have said regarding the book. Nothing pleases me more than seeing positive reviews on sites like Amazon and Goodreads. I take great joy in knowing that my experiences and suggestions have helped people begin their own journeys. This is why I would suggest my own book to you: I feel compelled to share my story with others who are looking for the same insight and awakening I have received.
I also invite you – and anyone who is considering beginning a spiritual journey – to message me directly with questions. I encourage you to learn about the Noble World Foundation, a nonprofit charity organization I started to help people who desire to begin their spiritual awakening.
I know I have been blessed in finding my own spiritual awakening, and my desire now is to help those who seek to find answers to these four basic questions: Who am I, really? Where do I come from? Where will I go to? and Why am I here?
Congratulations on beginning your inner journey! May you discover your source of true happiness!
