Building a Noble World by Shiv R. Jhawar, soft cover, 192 pages, $12.99, ISBN 0-9749197-0-5, available at www.amazon.com, the United Nations Bookshop in New York, and other book stores. For more information, visit www.nobleworld.org.
Rarely does one set out to write a book to change the world, but to his immense credit, Shiv R. Jhawar has done just that with his revolutionary book, Building a Noble World. As founder of the Noble World Foundation, Jhawar has an expressed objective of helping to create a lasting peace in the world by promoting greater understanding and spiritual enlightenment. Building a Noble World is a marvelously easily read and assiduously documented insight into Jhawar’s spiritual experiences and the personal revelation of fundamental truths he has received.
Jhawar does not espouse any particular religion, but explains that the message in his book encompasses all faiths. He declares that humanity's relationship with God is absolute, and explains how God’s presence in all beings is as scientifically emphatic as Einstein’s famous theory of relativity.
Jhawar provides a process by which individuals may take control of their own minds and effect a real change in the paradigms of hostility, terrorism, and conflict in the world today. He asserts that the “war on terrorism” can be won through meditation, and unlike so many who make bold and controversial claims, Jhawar systematically demonstrates how this may be accomplished by powerful meditative and yogic practices.
Building a Noble World is an inspired and inspirational work. Drawing from the greatest prophets and philosophers throughout the annals of history, Jhawar delivers a very simple yet desperately needed message: As long as hatred, fear, and violence persist, there can never be understanding. Only through mutual respect for the Godliness in all beings can anyone truly be said to worship God of all beings. The beautifully written passages and scrupulously researched quotations from inspired leaders from every walk of life validate Jhawar’s message in a truly uplifting and thought-provoking way.
Jhawar clearly describes the purpose and process of effective meditation, and explains how individuals can work on a global scale to positively affect the political miasma that has engulfed our world. To those reeling from the horrors of global terrorism, political corruption, and religious strife, the author offers a practical solution, empowering even the weakest to make a great impact.
He confidently enters into the political arena, proudly detailing the accomplishments of the United Nations. He strongly supports a democratic global government which would unify all the peoples of the world, by strengthening their individualism while at the same time illuminating the commonalities that make us all one human family.
Citing the European Union’s success in improving social and economic conditions for its member nations, Jhawar thoughtfully suggests that the Indian subcontinent would likewise benefit from an “Indus Union.” Such an entity would help break down traditional barriers and promote economic prosperity and political freedom in the subcontinent. As governments unite for the betterment of the world’s citizens, so too can individuals unite with the power of the inner Spirit for spiritual evolution.
The chaos, terror, and negative influences of nationalism and religious conflicts have brought this fragile planet to the verge of destruction. As world leaders and individuals alike seek safe ground from which to address the mind-boggling issues that confront us daily, Jhawar provides more than a mere insight; he has prepared answers to many of humanity’s most elusive mysteries, and offers this gift to the world.
Building a Noble World has a very profound message: If peace is ever to come to this planet, it can never be through war or political domination. Bombs and weapons beget more and more violence. Only when greed, pride, anger, and fear are overcome by the spiritual realization of the commonality of an individual’s connection with the oneness of the universe will the global community experience the joys of world peace.
Jhawar is a humble man, whose spiritual journey has awakened a tremendous personal power to influence the world. In this powerful handbook for world peace, Jhawar seamlessly combines spirituality, philosophy, science, history, yoga, psychology, and innovative politics. It reveals a 5,000-year cycle of prosperity that is emerging in South Asia. Through his efforts with the Noble World Foundation, Jhawar promotes the practice of meditation as a viable alternative to the uselessness of violence for building a noble world.

From Introduction by J. V. Lakshmana Rao, Managing
Editor, India Tribune, Chicago:
The book, Building a Noble World, is not just about religion and
spirituality. It is about practical life and unification of humanity that
leads to world peace. It dwells on varied subjects such as religion,
spirituality, unification of the Indian subcontinent as a harbinger of world
unification, the author’s own experience of shaktipat, and the
understanding of yoga.
Today, the world has recognized the importance of the Vedas, their underlying philosophy, yoga, and the technique of meditation. More and more people are practicing yoga for its uniqueness, efficacy, and simplicity. The West is looking toward the Vedic and yogic philosophy of India for peace, prosperity, and universal brotherhood. It is in the effort of spreading spirituality and sharing universal brotherhood that this book is relevant. The author is a spiritual person of exemplary simplicity. He lives a simple, ordinary life, practicing the high ideals of spirituality and yoga. Indeed, he is a blessed human being and a practical philosopher. Though the author makes his living as a chartered accountant, he sets a remarkable example of how spirituality can be practiced.
This thought-provoking book, interspersed with highly knowledgeable quotes from the writings of distinguished spiritual masters, will stimulate the intellect of those who read it. I am confident all will benefit from it. It is hoped that it will help promote peace and brotherhood among all human beings.
It is my conviction that this book releases tremendous force that may ultimately help build a nobler world.

Spirituality in Action, August 24, 2005

Building a Noble World
is one of the most splendid and thought-provoking
books written in recent times. The author, Shiv R.
Jhawar, has an innate talent of explaining the most
complex ideologies and terms in a way that is easy
for any average person to understand. There are very
few people who have known and experienced
spirituality in its truest sense, and upon reading
Mr. Jhawar's personal experience, one can easily
conclude that the author is one of them.
This book has tremendously helped me understand the
true meaning of spirituality. It has also helped me
in removing the preconceptions and false assumptions
I had regarding spirituality. Many people
erroneously believe that spirituality is the same
thing as religion. According to the author,
spirituality is not as same as religion. The main
goal of spirituality is to realize one's inner being
through meditation. All the divine powers lie inside
an individual, and to realize that, is what
spirituality is all about.
Mr. Jhawar has made it very clear that the only way
one can attain outer peace is by experiencing inner
peace. This can be done only through meditation and
yoga. People might think that meditation and yoga
are for saints who sit in caves and forests and are
away from the worldly life, but this is not true. In
fact, mediation and yoga is for everyone, because
every individual has right to attain inner peace.
Most modern people may find mediation not appealing,
but after reading Building a Noble World,
they would certainly realize the importance of it.
Mr. Jhawar has quoted world renowned figures
(Mahatma Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein,
Carl Jung, and others) and spiritual masters
(Vivekananda, Rama Tirtha, Yogananda, Muktananda,
and others) in his book, which makes the book all
the more interesting to read. The author not only
has written about spirituality, but also has given
his views and practical solutions on the most
pressing global problems of today. He has
effectively combined spirituality with politics.
Many people might think that spiritual people remain
aloof from today's problems; they will surely find
themselves wrong once they read this book. After
reading Building a Noble World, one can
certainly conclude that Mr. Jhawar is not only a
spiritual being but also a practical person.
In the midst of adversity and poverty in today's
world, the book comes as a ray of light and hope,
allowing us to experience true happiness within
ourselves. Building a Noble World is for
everyone irrespective of their race, culture,
religion and background. It is about unity and
peace. It is indeed, in its true sense, a must read
book for everyone seeking permanent happiness and
peace.

Masterpiece integrates science, politics &
spirituality, March 2, 2005
Reviewer:
Siddhartha (Cathedral City, CA)
What makes this book extraordinary is its ability to seamlessly integrate science, politics and spirituality. Any book would be exceptional if it could perform this feat with 2 of the 3 but Mr. Jhawar does it with all 3 and in a language that is easy to comprehend. For this he should be roundly applauded.
He also has the unique capacity to make spirituality understood as a science. This also is no small feat. The sages he quotes liberally in his book are masters of meditation and Mr. Jhawar has been able to take the primal concepts of love and respect as taught by them as well as taught by Jesus and Gandhi and applied them to the political stage so that there can be no doubt to everyone that our world could and should be a safe and peaceful place as opposed to the increasingly dangerous environment we all live in today. His answers to very troubling world political issues are in the classic tradition of the simple yet profound.
If you were ever intrigued by yoga and spirituality but ultimately found it was too vague to fit your own basic premises of logic and science, please read this book as Mr. Jhawar has found a way to bridge that gap. He also vividly captures the difference between religiosity and spirituality. So if you are one who takes exception to how religions in general conduct themselves but ultimately still seek a connection with a greater force beyond this physical universe this book could be of great value to you. "Building a Noble World" is an easy read and a great read therefore I highly recommend anyone to take some time to read it.

A Book of Tremendous Significance, March 2,
2005

Building a Noble World is a book of tremendous power and significance for our current times. In it, Shiv Jhawar offers us a way to emerge out of the darkness of racial, political, and religious ignorance, which has for so long created countless barriers, struggles, and wars amidst humanity. Jhawar reveals the deepest principles of life that teach us to recognize and embrace the one universal spirit that exists in all human beings as their Real Nature. Through the experience of this glorious spirit that exists in each of us, we can truly learn to live in harmony with the earth and others, while also allowing the dance of diversity to be valued with utmost love and respect regarding all walks of life.
The author's profound, immaculate wisdom concerning the
subjects of world peace, meditation, as well as his
pragmatic perspective on the crisis of post-modern
issues, reveal striking solutions to the miseries that
have befallen upon us on account of our misunderstanding
of the sacred and wonderful purpose of human life. Among
our families we struggle to keep joy alive; among our
jobs we find only anxiety, tire, and remorse; even our
proud nation is but a land of conflicting politics and
justice, as we can clearly see, from the striking
imbalance of rich and poor, of married and divorced, of
happy and depressed; regarding the global spectrum trust
seems to be lost, for the moral compass of love,
support, and human integrity seems dried up and hidden;
and above all, in the very intimate recess of our own
personal mind and heart there seems to be only an
increasing sense of worry, agitation, frustration, and
weariness about the point of life, about the justice of
God, if there be such a reality.
Indeed, during such times of immense adversity there
exists a responsive energy that we might call "Light"
amidst the darkness; there is "Truth" ever ready to
counter the prevailing conditions of deceit and
suffering; there is "Love" that far surpasses all forms
of betrayal and anger. "Building a Noble World" is such
a source of "Light," of "Truth," of "Love," which shines
bright in showing the way home for humanity, the way to
freedom, peace, and harmony on all levels of personal,
cultural, national, and global living.
I praise the remarkable Shiv Jhawar with my whole being and strongly recommend this read to anyone who is inspired to make the world a better place to live in.

The best for
spirituality and politics for the world today,

M. Tuscana "jiva yoga" (New York)
This book is a great introduction to yoga philosophy and also to history and politics of Europe, Asia, and the United States encompassing a global perspective. Building a Noble World reads like a who's who of the 20th century, documenting humanity's development in material and spiritual knowledge. Reading it, one gains a solid background in basic yoga philosophy including kundalini yoga, shaktipat, and meditation while also being introduced to such monumental historical figures as Albert Einstein, Herman Hesse, the great psychologist Carl Jung, Sivananda, Yogananda, Ram Tirtha, Gandhi, and many other famous figures. There is even an innovative solution to the Kashmiri crisis and an economic proposal for the unification of the Asian subcontinent. The author writes precisely while remaining accessible to the average reader. A book which is able to integrate so seamlessly spirituality, politics, and science, is quite an accomplishment, but Jhawar's book seems to achieve this feat effortlessly! This is one of those books that can change the course of an entire generation to the discovery of yoga and meditation. The main theme of the book is how spirituality can enhance the condition of the world both inner and outer and truly unite us all!!!
